The traditional checkered floor with a twist -- large scale tiles with subtle color change from tile to tile. It makes a distinctive statement in this kitchen with white cabinetry.

Incorporating a mudroom area into this kitchen remodel was an AHA moment. The back entrance now ushers you into a mudroom -- so useful for the family's coats, muddy soccer cleats, boots and shoes.

In keeping with the arts and crafts aesthtic of their home, the owners wanted to incorporate Pewabic tile accents into their backsplash.  Pewabic art tiles are handmade tiles from Detroit that come in a variety of special glazes and patterns rooted in the arts and crafts style. 

The layout of this kitchen was reconfigured to give the owners more much needed counterspace on either side of the range as well as storage.
